Chapter 4: The Quest

“No one has ever been able to do it! Some of them even fell to the queen and are now on her side. This is no walk in the park.” Xavier exclaimed, shocked at Arthur’s stupid comment.
“Then I’ll be a first!”
“Arthur!?!” Amy questioned him. “We’ll find another way to get off.”
“If you guys don’t want to do it, I will do it by myself!”
“If you are stubborn, I will help. Be warned: don’t fall under her spell and watch out, the journey is dangerous, but I shall assist you.” Xavier sighed. He picked up his handbag and helped Arthur to his feet. “This could lead to the freedom of all of Kretopia!”
“That’s the island we landed on?” Amy asked.
“You did not land on it. You were summoned. This is your quest.”
“Really?”
“No. But now that you’re here, you might as well pretend. Anyways, we have to get moving now if you want to stop her. The longer we wait the more power she gains.”
“You seem excited!” Arthur exclaimed. “So let’s go!”
The three gathered food, first aid supplies, water, and other helpful items from the house, like a blanket (of course, these items are oversized, so they only needed one or two of each thing). They walked out of the giant’s house, past the dead body, and towards the trees.
“We are now entering the Forest of Glere.” Xavier educated them on the forest. “There are dangerous creatures like the Dreodons. They are spotted creatures with eight legs, a serpent’s tongue, and horns like a Minotaur.”
“We came across one of those earlier! Amy, don’t you remember? You were scrambling up a tree like a baby!” Arthur chuckled to himself.
“They are nothing to laugh about. These creatures are very dangerous and highly venomous.”
“Oh…” Arthur’s voice trailed off. They stepped into the forest knowing that they may not come out. They passed the area that Arthur and Amy were once in, realizing that the forest barely started where they were. Around them were lush, green trees of different kinds.
There were oaks, birches, and spruces. Their golden leaves shone in the sun, and the little pond nearby was sparkling. As they passed the pond, the water stirred. It got rougher and rougher, until a Dreodon arose from them with evil eyes and licking lips. The Dreodon inched closer and closer each second in hopes of a lunch.
