“Psst! Over here! I need to tell you something important.”
Arthur whispered. Nobody heard him, because they were too far ahead, and he was
too scared to turn his back on the wolf. He decided to face the situation like
a man and held his stick in a fighting position. The eyes came closer and
closer, got bigger and bigger. Soon, Arthur could see the wolf’s face. The same
moment the wolf leaped at him, Arthur held the stick horizontally, stopping the
wolf’s jump. The wolf landed on the stick, scraping it, and started to lunge at
Arthur. Every time the wolf attacked, Arthur successfully blocked the stick,
and backed away each time until he was against a tree. He had to climb the
tree, but that would be a great risk, so, to distract the wolf, he threw the
stick at it and scrambled up.
Elsewhere,
along with the rest of the group, the pixies hadn’t let their guard down,
either, and noticed that someone was missing. So they flew back, the rest
unaware of this, and saw Arthur in a tree, with a wolf at the bottom.
Arthur
wanted to jump to injure the wolf. As he leaped, the wolf opened its jaws in the
air, ready to catch its meal.
